Directstream chooses SIRIUS as TCP stack for their OCTEON platform
DirectStream, a company who provides FPGA based Supercomputers and an accompanying development environment for Enterprise operations, chooses Sirius as the TCP/IP protocol stack by Phact for their OCTEON platform.
After an evaluation period, in which Sirius was thoroughly tested by their engineers, DirectStream has choosen Sirius as their TCP/IP protocol layer for their OCTEON III platform.
Directstreams’ system that enables their integrated development environment and secure cloud platform is called DS8, as it’s their eighth system to date.
Their Configurable Cloud ™ services utilize the DS8 system to provide compute, storage, networking and security – directly on hardware. These DS8 systems can be located in public or private clouds as well as on premises. The DS8 has very high I/O bandwidth ranging from 160 Gb/s on the smallest 1U configuration up to 960 Gb/s for the 4U offering.
Sirius is a TCP/UDP/IP protocol stack, especially designed for Caviums’ OCTEON processor family. Built from scratch, it uses the architecture of the OCTEON processor to the max for ultimate performance.
